River Oaks Elementary School develops extraordinary learners through a program of  differentiated, rigorous inquiry so that they may innovate and collaborate in a global society. The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme provides our framework for the development of internationally-minded learners who embody the ten attributes of the IB learner profile…inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced, and reflective.

The enriched curriculum focuses on problem solving, goal setting, and teamwork. We work to foster a safe and respectful school environment; with emphasis on self-evaluation, self-discipline, and self-respect. It is our goal that each child receives equal opportunity to achieve his or her fullest potential. Our school provides specialized instruction in science, Spanish, art, music, technology, research skills, and physical education.  Our parents are actively involved in the school. Throughout the day, they can be seen in the hallways reading to children, helping with instructional materials, fund raising, organizing enrichment activities for classes, and sitting on committees that guide the direction of the school.

Our Campus

River Oaks Elementary has an outstanding campus with many large old trees, several playgrounds, an outdoor stage area, and a Nature Center. We are very fortunate to have a Spark Park as part of our campus, which includes a half-mile jogging trail and children’s play areas. Our students have access to a Nature Center, mobile computer labs with laptop computers, mobile iTouch cart, SMART boards, state-of-the-art science lab, and classroom garden.
